Why to explore the Singaporean void?

The void is perceived like a sickness, a heavy burden, a feeling of inexistence. For a Singaporean citizen this is a paradox because the socio-dynamics of the world ideally seek towards the Singaporean way of life. Then the philosophic question that rises is: does it worth?

You can feel the void everywhere in Singapore: walking around the commercial centres when you have nothing else to buy, sitting in the restaurants when you have no more hungry, having a virtual relationship by chat with other Singaporeans rather that face to face.
Singaporeans and expats who are in or have been to Singapore shear this feeling of void and would like to face it with no fear. The idea is to get a better understanding of this void and maybe look for the identity that Singapore way of life has taken from us.

Ahh, finally one who feels the same way i do.

Just a thought,

there is no way to explore a void. When one is in a void, one becomes a part of the void, and in effect, ceases to exist since there is not avenue, within a void, for a personality to exercise, express and develop itself. In that sense, you are not wrong in viewing singapore as a 'void' as it is quite the uphill task when it comes to maintaining some semblance of a truly individualistic personality here.

Keep it up. Don't let the self-nullifying system here crush you underheel as it has most others.

p.s. the singaporean experience does not take away one's identity. Rather, it takes away one's ability to formulate one.

When you get conscient of the void, its possible to explore it, that's what we do now. Being part of the void is being part of the society, its not a choise. The scape is possible by different ways, revolution to change the system, adapt to the system accepting the void, and suicide. The idea now is to explore the void to take an individual choise and maybe to built some kind of solidarity.

Then, you are speaking of the 'void without' - that is, the void outside of yourself. Thankfully, the void has yet to extend its dominion to your inner self. Unfortunately, time is ticking. With the passage of time, and the continuing inability of the self to express and realise itself, comes the propensity to fall victim to the void. I suppose the only hope left for the likes of beings such as ourselves is to create little havens wherein we might thrive. Social support is important. Together, we might stand firm, apart, we'll either fall victim and become one with the void or wither away without.
